Pair of Poltrone Chairs , c. 1810 Genova

Solid walnut, upholstered in vintage Moss velvet.  A rare pair of armchairs in the Luigi Filippo style.  They are a matched ‘His & Hers’ pair of chairs, with the ‘His’ chair being a wider, lower profile, and ‘Hers’ being taller, narrower, and more ornate.  Both are carved in the more restrained Luigi Filippo style, consisting of acanthus leaves, scrolls, and cabriole legs.
