Pair of Luigi Filippo Parlor Chairs , c. 1850 Liguria

Solid walnut, upholstered in vintage Garnet velvet.  A pair of petite parlor chairs in a more ornate Luigi Filippo style.  Balloon backs topped by an acanthus leaf-and-shield cartouche, and joined by a central scrolled back support.  Curved legs are finely carved to accentuate the sinuous lines, and scrolled feet round off the refined proportions.
