Pair of Cassettone Bureaus, Luigi Filippo c. 1870 Lombardia

Pair of dressers in solid walnut with walnut veneers.  Top in Bardiglio marble.  Built in a more angular version of the Luigi Filippo style.  Wide central drawer with walnut burl panel and dovetail joinery.  Tasteful geometric trim molding.  Two burl-paneled doors conceal three dovetailed drawers inside.  Side supports are decorated with waterfall and acanthus leaf carved capitals.  A stepped base and onion feet round out the classically-proportioned pair.
