Libreria Rinascimento Bookcase, c.1890 Piemonte

Large bookcase in solid walnut and walnut veneers.  Built in the ornate Renaissance style.  Stepped crown molding with egg-and-dart trim.  Central header with floral and vine carvings.  Three paneled doors with lavish acanthus leaf and scroll sculpting in the central panels.  Three dovetailed drawers bearing floral and vine motifs and rosette knobs.  Side supports are fashioned with acanthus leaves and flourished capitals.  Egg-and-dart carved base is supported by sturdy lion’s paw feet.
